Teenage-angst rock band Placebo have shared that they have had to cancel all of their further shows due to a new outbreak of coronavirus that has taken over the band and crew. The band made up of Stefan Olsdal and Brain Molko, alongside current touring members Nick Gavrilovic, Matt Lunn, Bill Loyd and Angela Chan, have shared that they will not only be unable to perform their planned shows within Bucharest, Romania, but as well at their Macedonia show on July 16th.
Their joint statement that has now been release revealed, “Due to an outrank of COVID within the Placebo band and crew we regretfully announce that Placebo will be unable to perform”. They go on to list the upcoming shows that they will not be attending, along with their sincerest apologies.
Meanwhile, on a more positive note, the bands frontman Ryan has mentioned the band’s amazing connection with Kate Bush to lift spirits and their 2003 cover of ‘Running Up That Hill’, which has currently resurfaced and was featured on ‘Stranger Things’, allowing for Kate to go viral once more. Ryan shared that at the time they were already in a healthy habit covering their favourite 80’s tracks, so when choosing Bush’ song, they decided to slow down the tempo and keep that strong 2000’s electronic feel. Could this be a potential collaboration on the horizon?
