Heavy Drunk & Visit Greenwood Team Up to Restore Blues Legend Robert Johnson’s Grave

Soul Musician HeavyDrunk Releases Fundraising Record To Restore The Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church and Legendary Bluesman Robert Johnson Music and philanthropy come together on July 15th as soul musician Heavy Drunk releases the new record ‘You Don’t Know Me’ in support of restoring the burial site of legendary bluesman Robert Johnson and the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

The record seeks to raise awareness and funds for the maintenance and conservation of one of the Delta’s most iconic landmarks and the founder of rock and roll. Heavy Drunk, born in Tennessee and son of the south, channels his southern roots to bring a mix of blues, soul, and americana on the record. Filled with an array of musicians including Prince’s trombone player Roy Agee, four-time Academy of Country Music Bass Player of the Year nominee Alison Prestwood, LA brothers The Deltaz on guitar and drums, and Dave & Sugar’s Etta Britt on vocals, You Don’t Know Me is a heartfelt tribute to the bluesman.

The titular lead single of the record, ‘Love & Devotion’, offers a glimpse into Heavy Drunk’s powerful vocals and playful exploration of the genre. The subtle gospel undertones of the moving The record has been recorded and mixed by Grammy award winner Casey Wasner and is intended to bring the bluesman’s memory to life and restore the burial grounds of the Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church.    Heavy Drunk also seeks to use the record as a vehicle to raise funds for restoring the church as seen in the major Hollywood feature film ‘The Help’. With his passion for music coupled with a compassionate heart, Heavy Drunk’s ‘You Don’t Know Me’ is the perfect combination of soulful blues and philanthropy. Be sure to check out the record releasing worldwide on July 15th, and support a great cause!
